Transparency is a core principle of Civilized World Foundation. This Open Ledger provides a clear overview of the Foundation’s funding, expenditure, financial commitments and reserves during its start-up phase.

Open Ledger

Status as of August 2026

Funding and Donations

Civilized World Foundation does not yet have its own bank account. Under the Foundation’s draft Articles of Association, financial contributions may only be received into a bank account held in the Foundation’s own name.

As a result, CWF has not yet received any donations or other financial contributions.

From September 2026, CWF intends to start approaching individual, institutional and philanthropic donors to explore funding commitments.

CWF expects to have its own bank account available from October 2026, after which donations can be formally accepted.

Until sufficient funding is available, all work for CWF is being performed pro bono.

Expenditure to Date

The following costs have been incurred in establishing CWF and developing its initial infrastructure:

  • Domain name registrations and web hosting: approximately €836
  • Development of the Minimum Viable Online Platform: €6,050 in cash costs, combined with an additional €6,050 in-kind contribution through a barter arrangement
  • Notarial costs: quotation pending
  • Accountancy costs: quotation pending
  • Salaries and management remuneration: €0
  • Routine operational work and minor day-to-day expenses: currently provided pro bono

Financial Commitments

CWF has secured the relevant domain names for the coming three years.

Until the Foundation is able to settle its own expenses, significant costs are being paid on behalf of CWF by Adapt2Value B.V., the company of CWF’s founder.

These payments are recorded transparently as amounts advanced on behalf of CWF and do not constitute donations unless explicitly designated as such.

Remuneration Policy

At this stage:

No salaries, management fees or other remuneration are being paid by CWF.

Until the Foundation has sufficient and sustainable financial resources, work for CWF will continue to be performed on a pro bono basis.

Any future remuneration arrangements will be established transparently, responsibly and in accordance with the Foundation’s governance framework.

Reserves

CWF has not yet built up any financial reserves.

The Foundation does, however, already benefit from substantial non-financial support, including pro bono work, expertise, goodwill and in-kind contributions from people involved in its development.

There is also growing international interest from individuals and organisations willing to contribute expertise, networks and other forms of support to the mission.

Our Commitment to Transparency

As CWF develops, this Open Ledger will be updated to reflect:

  • donations and other funding received;
  • significant expenditure;
  • material financial commitments;
  • remuneration, if introduced;
  • reserves;
  • major in-kind contributions; and
  • other relevant financial decisions.

Our aim is simple: anyone supporting Civilized World Foundation should be able to understand where its resources come from and how they are used.
